The RELIC promise

Made with intention. Not in bulk.

  1. Hot off the press

Every RELIC is made to order, meaning each piece stays fresh and unique. Give us 3–7 days to bring it to life.

  2. Printed. Then perfected.

Every piece is printed in layers, finished by hand, and checked before it leaves our studio. Small variations are part of the charm.

  3. Material matters. Light on the planet.

We use PLA, a plant-based material made from renewable resources, to reduce our reliance on conventional petroleum-based plastics.

How a RELIC is made

Have an idea?

Some of our favourite things start with someone asking:“Could you make this?”

RELIC Forge turns ideas, references and concepts into physical objects through custom work. Bring us a sketch, model, reference… or just an idea. We’ll figure out the rest.

Questions

Things worth knowing before you order.

Everything below is how RELIC actually works. If your question is not here, message @relicbylkl or email the studio.

Ordering and Delivery

4 questions
How long does an order take?

Every piece prints after it is ordered, so nothing ships same day. Desk pieces usually take 3 to 7 days in the studio before they post. Forge commissions run 3 to 6 weeks depending on size and finish, and you get a timeline in writing before anything starts.

Where does RELIC ship from, and where does it ship to?

Everything is printed, finished and posted from the studio in Thrissur, Kerala. RELIC ships across India. For anywhere outside India, message the studio first and you will get a quote on postage before you order.

Can I track my order?

Yes. You get a tracking number by email or WhatsApp once the piece leaves the studio.

Can I cancel or change an order?

If it has not started printing, yes, message the studio and it gets sorted. Once a piece is on the printer it cannot be cancelled, because it was made specifically for you and there is no shelf to put it back on.

The Products

6 questions
What are RELIC pieces made from?

PLA and PETG. PLA for most desk and decor pieces, PETG where a part needs to take more stress, like a hinge or a clip. Finishes range from matte obsidian to silk, metallic and wood filled.

Are they durable?

Yes, for what they are designed to do. A controller dock will hold a controller for years. What these are not is heatproof, so keep a piece out of a hot car and off a sunny windowsill, because PLA softens well below the temperature a parked car reaches in summer.

How do I clean one?

A dry or slightly damp cloth. No solvents, no dishwasher, no hot water. Matte finishes hide fingerprints better than gloss, which is worth knowing if you are choosing between the two.

Will my piece look exactly like the photo?

Close, but not identical. These are printed one at a time and finished by hand, so layer lines, gradients and dual tone effects vary a little between pieces. Product photos show the intent rather than a guarantee. That variation is the trade for buying something made individually.

Can I choose the colour?

For most Desk pieces, yes, within the range the studio has in stock. Ask before ordering if you want something specific and you will get a straight answer about what is available.

What does the hallmark on the base mean?

Every RELIC piece carries a mark on its underside. It is how you tell a RELIC object from a generic print of a similar shape.

RELIC / FORGE Commissions

6 questions
What is Forge?

Forge is the custom side of RELIC. Helmets, wearable props, sculptures, figurines and stash boxes made to your brief rather than picked off a catalogue.

How does a commission work?

Send a model file, a reference link or a sketch, along with the size and finish you want. You get a price and a timeline back. Nothing prints until you approve both.

What does a commission cost?

It depends on size, complexity and finish. Commissions start around 3,500 rupees and go up from there. Quotes are free and there is no obligation once you have one.

Can you print a character or prop from a film or game?

Only if you own the design or created it yourself. RELIC does not print branded or copyrighted characters, armour or props for sale. If you are unsure whether your idea qualifies, ask before sending it over and you will get a clear answer.

Do I keep the rights to my design?

Yes. A Forge commission is built from what you own or made, and it is not resold, reused or added to the catalogue without you.

Can you scale a design up or down?

Usually. Scaling changes print time, material use and sometimes structural strength, so the quote reflects the size you actually want rather than the size of the original file.

Collections and Availability

4 questions
What are the four collections?

Desk covers objects for your work surface, and is live now. Forge is custom commissions, with intake open. Motion covers articulated and fidget pieces, arriving in phase two. Home covers vases, lighting and holders, currently in development with a waitlist open.

When does Motion launch?

Motion is phase two. Follow @relicbylkl for the drop, or join the waitlist to hear first.

Something sold out. Will it come back?

Nothing sells out in the usual sense, because nothing is made in advance. If a piece is unavailable it is because a material or colour has run low, and it returns once stock does.

Can I buy in bulk, or order for an event?

Yes. Message the studio with quantity and deadline. Bulk runs need more lead time than a single piece, so the earlier you ask the better.

Returns and Support

3 questions
Can I return a piece?

Made to order pieces are not returnable simply because you changed your mind, since each one was printed specifically for your order. If a piece arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, that is on RELIC and it gets replaced.

What if my piece arrives damaged?

Photograph it and message the studio within 48 hours of delivery. A replacement gets printed and sent.

My piece broke. Can it be repaired or replaced?

Message the studio with a photo. Depending on what happened, you will be offered a repair, a replacement, or a discounted reprint. It is a small studio, so real problems get dealt with directly.

About RELIC

4 questions
Who is behind RELIC?

RELIC is the object studio inside Low-Key Loud, a creative and systems agency. The studio runs out of Thrissur, Kerala, and it is small on purpose, because every order passing through the same pair of hands is the only way the finish stays consistent.

Are the designs original?

Some forms are developed in house. Others are adapted from designs licensed for commercial use, then reworked for fit, strength and finish. RELIC does not pass off other people's work as its own.

Why does it cost more than a mass produced version?

Because nothing here is mass produced. A piece takes hours on the printer and more by hand afterwards, and it is made only once you have asked for it. You are paying for a specific object rather than one of fifty thousand.
